What does the shipping charge from iFixit cover?
The shipping and handling fee charged by iFixit at the time of purchase covers the transportation charges for the carrier of the package. It does not include any duties, taxes, customs fees or brokerage fees. Duties, taxes, customs, and brokerage fees are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Please be prepared to pay these fees when your package is delivered. Please note that these fees are specific for the destination country, and we do not know what the amount will be.
If the package is refused or returned to us, all customs charges or fees will be charged to you. If a shipment is refused and returned, you will be responsible for any import taxes and/or return shipping costs incurred by iFixit.
Sometimes your country's customs department will require additional information in order to clear your shipment for delivery. If they ask you for an invoice or commercial invoice, you can find a copy of that by looking at your order history under your profile. If you need further assistance, please contact us.

International Shipping FAQ:
Why can't iFixit pay the duties and taxes for me? I'm willing to pay for them at the time of purchase.
- If we could tell you exactly how much the duties and taxes were going to be, we would be happy to pay them on your behalf. The problem is that there are so many different laws, regulations, and special circumstances that it's extremely hard to estimate them accurately.
The duties and taxes are too expensive! Can I send the package back to you and cancel my order?
Sorry, but no, you can't. If a package is refused and returned to us, we will have to charge the return shipping cost to the intended recipient. Any duties, taxes or other fees will also be charged back to the intended recipient.
Why am I being charged by the shipping carrier for the duties and taxes? I thought these fees are applied by my country's customs department.
- Depending on the shipping method you selected, the carrier may pay the duties and taxes on your behalf in order to expedite the delivery of your package. The shipping carrier will then bill you for those duties and taxes afterwards. Sometimes the shipping carrier will charge a fee for this service and apply it to the bill. Please see our explanation of fees under International Shipping Policies for more info.
Can iFixit indicate on the customs forms that the package is gift or that it has no value so I don't have to pay any taxes or fees?
- This is illegal. We are a retail store and we have to indicate all items as merchandise
I still have a question - what can I do?
- Feel free to contact us about any questions related to international shipping. Our customer service team is here to help you
